  Jimmie Dee's Bar

Best Bar/Tavern
Best Place to Dance
Best Late Night Hangout

Every year since the inception of Yuma's Best, Jimmie Dee's Bar has named in various and multiple categories. And The Sun's readers have once again named it Yuma's Best Bar/Tavern, Place to Dance and Late Night Hangout.

"It's just a fun place to be," said owner Rick Good. "Its one of the few venues that still offers live music, drinks are reasonably priced, and it's downtown, so it's got a historic feel to it. People like the nostalgia, and it's a good meeting place.

"I've got a good mix of people here, from bankers to lawyers to farmers and construction workers."

Jimmie Dee's provides live music three times a week, DJ music four times a week and free food catered by Yuma restaurants at 5 p.m. every Friday.

Discounted drinks are available during happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. every day.

"Thanks, man, and keep coming," Good said to The Sun readers. "I'll sell you any kind of liquor you want, and you can listen to almost any kind of music you like."

The bar is open from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday. Jimmie Dee's is at 38 W. 2nd St., and the number is 783-5647.
