  East Main Canal Multi-use Pathway

Best Bike Ride

The Sun's readers say Yuma's Best Bike Ride is on the East Main Canal Multiuse Pathway.

The path runs from the Yuma Crossing Park down past 40th Street, along the East Main Canal, said Greg Hyland, strategic communications manager with the city of Yuma.

"It's fantastic that people are utilizing this method of recreation."

It's one of the most scenic, fairly unimpeded paths that runs north and south through the community, he said. People can ride a long way without having to stop often and cross traffic at major streets.

And it's more than just a bike path, he said. People also use it for walking and jogging.

"Our hope is to be able to expand the multiuse pathway throughout the community in the future."

It's also lamplit the entire way at night, so folks can use it anytime, he said.
