Yuma's Best 2006 Sub Category winner
  Desert Rose

Best Retirement Facility

The Sun's readers have voted Desert Rose Yuma's Best Retirement Facility.

"We're grateful," said David Nickerson, manager. "I'm very thankful for the award.

"We work very hard to give our residents the best years of their life, and that incorporates into giving them a very good service at a very reasonable price."

He suspects the Yuma's Best title may be the result of residents telling friends and family that Desert Rose is a very nice place to live, with great amenities, great staff, great, nourishing meals and a great dining room for fellowship.

"Our residents really enjoy the dining room. If they have good food in their stomachs and great conversation on their lips, then that reflects on their health."

For the monthly rent, residents get an apartment, meals, utilities, basic cable, a billiards room, library, swimming pools and other amenities. "E cords" are located in each room for residents to pull in case of emergency, and there is 24-hour on-site management. Office hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

All potential future residents are invited to tour the facility and enjoy a free meal.

Located at 1545 S. 14th Ave., the facility can be reached at 343-0807.
