Feedback
1. Who sees my nomination form, and our company’s application?
a. Only assigned employees of The Sun who are working to secure applications and assemble packets for the out-of-town judging panel will see your entry forms.

2. I’m not in management. Can I nominate my company?
a. Absolutely. We’re looking for nominations from all areas of businesses – support staff, line employees, middle management.

3. I am in management. Can I nominate my company?
a. Yes, you may nominate your company as long as you are not the owner, president, CEO or top HR manager.

4. I work for a chain business. Can we participate?
a. All businesses with a physical location in Yuma can enter.

5. Can I sponsor some part of Workplace Excellence but still be eligible to win a prize?
a. All sponsors must take themselves out of the application process. Sponsors may be nominated by employees and recognized for their nomination but not advance to the application level.

6. If I win a category, can I use the Great Place to Work logo in my ads?
a. Yes, you may. The Sun will make the logo available to all verified winners.

7. Can I nominate my business even if we don’t have a local Human Resources person?
a. Sure you can. Sometimes the HR function falls to the owner, or president, or support staff. The truth is, if you have humans working at your business, and you like it there, you have something to brag about. Just send us what makes it a good place to work. Then we’ll contact someone in top management to complete the application process.

8. What if no businesses are nominated, or only one business is nominated?
a. If no businesses in a certain category are nominated or complete the application process, the category will go dark for the year. No matter how many businesses per category are nominated, if none reach the judging threshold (of points, determined by independent judging panel) no prize will be awarded. If only one nominated company completes the application process and exceeds the judging panel’s threshold, they will win the prize.

9. Is there any way a prize will not be awarded for a category?

a. Yes, if no businesses are nominated and/or complete the application process in a category, no prize will be awarded. Also, if none of the businesses that complete the application process meet the judging panel’s threshold, no business will win.

10. Will my nomination information or application information be used for any other purpose?
a. In some instances, your information might be used by a reporter of The Sun for a story idea for our businesses pages or for Yuma Business Direct. Your business would be contacted in that instance.

11. What if I can’t fill out every line of the application for some reason?
a. In order for your application to be considered, it must be complete, with some information answering each question of the application. If the information isn’t available to you, or inaccessible, or not applicable, please say that on the application. You may be contacted by The Sun or the judging panel for clarification.
